Python Projects

During the months of February-May, club members had the opportunity to explore the language of Python. They participated in a self-paced course, and presented their research/projects to the rest of the club members.

Bulletin Board Project

As one of the two clubs at our school dedicated to women in STEM, we decided to push for our bulletin board. At our school, bulletin boards are used to spread a message and advertise certain ideas. Once given the bulletin board, we had no idea what we wanted to put on it. After weeks of planning, we decided we were going to use it to honor the work of successful women in STEM who have left a mark in and out of the STEM community. With weeks of work, we were finally able to put together a board that would hopefully inspire all women!

Our HTML/CSS Projects!

As we stated before, the goal of our chapter is to provide free coding lessons to girls who don’t have access to them. We decided we were going to teach the girls in our chapter how to build a website. Many of them either didn’t have the resources to learn how to code, didn’t have the opportunity to learn, or just wanted to learn a fun new skill!  We are very grateful to have the opportunity to teach these girls a new skill that will help them in their futures! These free lessons gave them an opportunity to explore a new field!
They were tasked with making a website with HTML/CSS on a problem they deemed important in society. They brought awareness to an issue they found important with months of research and coding. Click the button below to view some of the websites!

Secret Snowflake

As a group, we all came together to share some holiday joy with our community! Students were able to buy candy bags and a message from our fundraiser to raise money for the Society of Woman Coders Organization. The chapter spent months getting in touch with the school staff in order to plan this event. Click the button below to see more pics!
